As much as it sucks, going through those experiences without your parents around to bail you out and save the day is an invaluable lesson that will stick with him. I know when I was a dorky teenager and had to fend for myself, I learned a lot about who I was, and what I DIDN'T want to be (i.e., those kids who mercilessly picked on me at every opportunity).
I'm so sorry about the pooch! What happened? If you need a dog watcher, I work from home and can help out if you need it during showings. It scares me to think that Dexter could get that kind of injury, which might be more likely since we got a taller bed that he keeps trying to jump on - and he just ricochets off. I remember what a PAIN IN THE ASS it was when I was selling my condo in Colorado, and I had to leave on a Realtor's whim... which meant I had to do turbo-cleaning and round up all of my animals (four cats at the time) and herd them all into the car - all while working remotely from my vehicle! lol. The most memorable of those trips was when one cat decided to hide under the bed, and when I was lunging for her - I caught my arm on the bed frame and tore my skin just above my elbow open. So I'm bleeding out in my car, pissed off at my cats, and dreading that I had to get stitches and a tetanus shot. Luckily, I figured out by then I could park just out of sight of my house in a car full of yowling, pitiful cats, and watch when the realtor came and left.
It's tough when humor doesn't fix things, especially when that fix is outside of your control.
Maybe this will make you feel better - a few years ago, Mike tested positive for strep in a blood test, but didn't have a sore throat or anything. What he DID have was a big red circle on his rear that we affectionately called "strep butt". He just tested positive for staph in his blood. So now he has staph-butt. It COULD be worse!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13780820027940053368noreply@blogger.com
